Trevor Scott and Lil Campbell have been best friends since childhood and both have come to terms that they will forever remain single. Lil is fast approaching thirty and decides to become a single mother, though she needs a “donor.” After talking things over with Trevor and thinking of everyone they can and declaring nobody suitable enough, Trevor offers his services. What starts out as a “business only” baby-making project, soon turns into days and nights of wild passion they never knew they could share. Lil, always the logical and stable one, wonders if getting pregnant by Trevor was such a good idea since she now wants him in the husband and father role as well. But will Trevor let his haunted past destroy any chance at a happy family life?

Coffee Time Romance Review

Kelly Wallace has produced a real gem. Her characters are full of life, truly grasping the readers’ attention. Trevor is the big macho man with a broken heart, just begging to be healed. Lil is his match in every way. She sees right through his tough guy exterior, and does not back down. The romance is hot and heavy, but the real heart of the story is the love and understanding they have for each other and their baby.

Blue Ribbon Rating: 4.5

Kelly Wallace puts a positively enchanting spin on the friends to lovers scenario with A BITTER PILL. It’s obvious that their feelings for each other go beyond friendship - even before they become lovers - but Trevor is determined to not even consider a ‘forever’ kind of love.  Lil’s spunky personality makes this tale one you’ll want to read.  She’s not afraid to go after what she wants and worry about the consequences later.  Trevor has issues from his childhood that have shaped him into the man he is now - complete with nightmares that have him fearing that he’ll be exactly like his abusive, alcoholic father.  A BITTER PILL is a fun read with plenty of emotional impact and even humor to ensure you a satisfyingly good time.

The Romance Studio Review

Kelly Wallace has written a wonderful, believable story. Lil and Trevor just leap off the page, you have to love them. They are such strong characters, yet so vulnerable and realistic. I loved this story. It moves along smoothly and had me hoping for these two great people to get it together, to get past their painful pasts, and find their happily ever after. I would highly recommend this one to any one looking for an emotional story, with passion and two loveable characters.

Just Erotic Romance Reviews

A Bitter Pill was a sensual romance proving the love of a good woman could allow a man to look within himself and resolve old hurts. Trevor had a rough childhood; his mother was too fast for her own good which drove his father to drinking and rages of violence. It doesn’t help that not Trevor suffered the physical abuse for his mother’s misdeeds but he witnessed his father committing a murder/suicide. I felt Trevor’s pain and the love he never wanted to show towards Lil. Trevor has had feelings for Lil for quite some time, but hid them as best friend/big brother. When Lil decides that she wants a child, I found myself thinking- ok this is how she will get him to admit that he loves her as a woman. I became Lil’s biggest supporter as she struggled to help Trevor realize that he was lovable and worthy of a family.  Ms. Wallace did an excellent job with the flow of the story from start to finish.
